February Ambassador

Holly Mills is an aspiring Olympian and represents GB in heptathlon and long jump and is our Beet It Sport Ferbruary ambassador. Holly achieved gold in long jump at the Junior Gala International Mannheim, 4th in heptathlon and bronze in long jump at the European U20 Championships in Sweden. Her aspirations for 2020 is to achieve her first senior GB vest, and to qualify for the 2020 Europeans in Paris for Heptathlon.

Many different athletes inspire her. Her main athlete role model is Jessica Ennis, just because she was an incredible heptathlete, with an amazing list of achievements. But she is more inspired by the athletes around her, who she gets to train with and compete against.

Holly also has a blog which emphasizes the importance of mental toughness in sport and gives lots of great advise to any young, aspiring athletes who may be struggling with mental toughness, such setting yourself outcome goals (performance oriented) but also process goals (micro-victories). She says that the more people focus on the process goals, the less likely they are to find themselves fixating on performing to the set level. This will help with mental toughness because you will learn to enjoy the small achievements and will become less stressed about the looming expectations of performance.

“Beet It Sport has massively helped my performance. I have been taking the beetroot juice shots for a couple of years now and feel it increases my endurance in my 800m sessions and my aerobic sessions, meaning I can get the most out of my training. I always make sure I have a Beetroot juice with me at competitions, as they’re a vital part in my preparation and to my performance […] Beet It Sport has become a staple in my diet. It supports my training and competitions. My endurance ability has increased incredible amounts, and this is reflected through my performance outcomes. Best It Sport is also on informed by sport, which is essential for me being a clean athlete. The products are also super easy to transport with me anyway I go in the world, which I like”.
